Well it hit me finally. I got the Christmas bug again. I have been listening to Christmas music on the radio since Nov 1. Yea I know. But I love Christmas and Christmas Music. And this week has proved once again life is to short not to enjoy each and everyday to its fullest even if it isn't so perfect. God has a plan for each of us and I read a cute verse this week that I will be using more than once. It said " WANT TO MAKE GOD LAUGH? TELL HIM YOUR PLANS!!". That is so true. But I want to be like the next one "I want to be the woman that when she gets up in the morning the devil says O' Crap She's Up!". So I have been sitting a my desk for over a week now trying to come up with my Christmas design this year. I would make one and it wouldn't look right so I would try again only to get angry and leave the room. Well I was determined yesterday to make my design. Well I did I made 3 actually. So I went from nothing to 3. But I am very pleased with them and will be making many more to get in the mail this week.
SO here they are... And if you are on my Christmas Card list you never know which one you may get.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

God Bless,
Larissa

Wow how time flies. It is already the 8th day of December. Thanksgiving came and went. You cook all day to have the meal gone in 30 minutes. Now we move into Christmas. I have been enjoying the Christmas music on the radio since before Thanksgiving. Of course Brittany tells me if I hear one more jingle bells mom! Yeah Yeah Yeah.
I have been slow at Christmas cards this year. Not sure why. I am excited to get them done but can't get them right. I made one tonight as a tester and kind of like it but just not sure yet. Today has been a day... My daughter attends a private christian school where there are 350 kids from pre k to 12th grade. So needless to say we are all pretty close. And with me subbing there I tend to meet mom's in the lower grades as well. Today I had some heart breaking news. one of the 2nd grade little girls lost her father Sunday morning to a massive heart attack. He leaves behind a 2nd grader a 9th grader and a wonderful wife. Of course unexpected. Then later on in the day as I waited for the email on what we were needing to do to help out I received word that one of the 6th grade girls lost her father to cancer Saturday morning. Her birthday was Friday and from what I understand he went home from the hospital to be with her.
I know God has a plan for everyone and we have to praise him even in time of sorrow. I am praying these two families find strength in the Lord during this sorrowful time.

Back to my card.

Friday wow already. Only 40 days left of 2008. Where has the time gone. The weather here is cold today. Not cold enough for snow of course but cold enough I had to carry all my plants in and cover up the big ones again outside. I am sitting here looking out the window and there are gray clouds ontop of the blue sky. You can see patches of pretty blue shining through. I think I am going to start some Christmas presents this morning. Until then I want to show you 2 cards I did this week. First I did my Thanksgiving Cards.
My Recipe was:
Stamp Set: Stampin Up Harvest Home
Paper: SU Cardstock Very Vanilla, Garden Green and Really Rust the yellow is from a pattern package from Michaels or Hobby Lobby
Ink: All SU Very Black Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip,Really Rust, Summer Sun, Real Red, Mellow Moss, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Always Artichoke
Embelishments: Orange Fibers and Black Eyelets.

Next I ran into a Friend yesterday and she asked if I had a Birthday card for a 5 year old made. I told her no but I would go make one for her.
So I thought what would catch the eye of a 5 year old. COLORS!!!! Lots of color..
But it is a boy so no flowers or pretty ribbons so what to do what to do...
Well the great mind ha ha this is what I came up with

My Recipe:
CardStock: All SU Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, Glorious Gren and Ballet Blue
Ink: SU Craft Ink Whisper White
Embelishments: varies buttons
Stamp Set: Happy Brithday from Favorite Teddy Bear
Puzzle Die cut from Cricut cartridge Locker Talk

Well off to start those Christmas presents.... I will try to post some when I am done. My first attempt at these so I will let you know.....

Wow so much has happen and I haven't been able to post it... First we celebrated Gary's birthday last Tuesday. Then Thursday we celebrated our baby girls 18th. Wow she is an adult now. Can't believe how 18 years just flew by so quickly. We celebrated the evening with her grandparents and a dinner at Carrino's Italian Resturant. It was a very nice meal.
Her dad and I got her a pearl necklace.

Something she has been asking for. I don't think at 18 I wanted a pearl necklace. My parents got her a brand new car just a couple of months early

and then as a 2nd gift my mom gave her money to go buy a coach purse. So Friday as soon as she got home from school we went and bought the new coach purse.
I don't have a pciture of it yet. I don't think I can get it out of her hands long enough.
Here are some more pictures from that night.

The day after this lovely eveing I began to get sick. I thought it was just allergies and maybe it started out to be but then I ran fever all weekend and this morning too. And this headache. 3 days now and I thought for sure last night that one side of my head was going to explode. It didn't but I think it wants too.

Before calling it a night I have one more thing to tell you about. I called my dad about 6:50 pm tonight and he said he was going outside (they live in San Antonio about 45- 50 miles south of us) because the space station was going to go over and was coming our way. So we ran outside and at 7:01 pm we watch as the Space Station flew over our house. And at 7:02 it disappeared. I ran in and called my dad and asked if he saw it and he said yes I told him we had too. He said we get another chance at it tomorrow as well. So we will see.
Okay I know my head is fixing to explode so I am going to lay down and watch Jon and Kate plus 8 and try to get some rest.
I do have some cards to post so hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday I will have time to do that.
Have a good evening.

Wow October came and went. It is already November. Lots of Birthdays coming up. My best friend is pregnant with her 4th baby and I am so happy for her. I have been playing with a few different things today. We went to Fredricksburg yesterday just to walk around to get out of the house. We went into the local scrapbook store and there were tons of flowers. I love flowers. I have seen more and more used on pages as well as cards. Well since the budget is not allowing flowers right now I decided to make my own. I made these today using my cricut cartridge George and Basic Shapes. I use Cuttin Up for the letters. Let me know what you think.

Good Morning my bloggin friends. Sorry haven't had a chance to post these last few days. I did get a few birthday cards, halloween cards, and altered a book this past week. But didn't get a chance to post anything yet. Most of you who know me know how we feel about our dogs. After losing Dixie to breast cancer a couple of years ago we watch them pretty close. Then the news of Ginger being a diabetic. What next. The last year Audie has had this growth on his stomach. The vet didn't want to remove it until it got to big or started bothering him. Well with Gary being home a little more these days I thought it best we do the surgery. We took him in Thursday at noon the surgery took about an hour. The vet called and said it was over we could come see him. But he would have to stay over night so they could keep an eye on him. (I wasn't to happy about it) We drove up to see him and of course he was still out of it but starting to come around. So we left before we woke up. But we did get a chance to see the tumor that was growing inside my baby. A 5 lb fatty tumor. I took pictures (of course) but doubt I will post them here. He did a test on it and no cancer. Praise God! We picked him up early Friday morning and they sent him home with an antibiotic and pain pills. He slept pretty much all day. And by that evening he was himself again.

Today is a beautiful fall day. It is 53 outside and very windy.

Enjoy your day...

On Oct 10 last year I started blogging. I haven't been real good at keeping up. I want to post more pics but my camera is broke and I have had to share with Brittany. There are some cute pics we took this past weekend but her camera is in her car for spirit week at school. Oh well I will try to get them up in the next couple of days. I am making some odds and ends for a few swaps I am trying to finish.

Also my favorite blog post has been circulating around again. It was the first blog I ever posted and I am posting it again today. I never looked at pumpkins in this way. And it is so pumpkin weather here. It was 58 this morning and only getting to 70 today. Gonna be opening the windows in a little while and letting the house air out. Of course the dogs will bark and every leaf that blows but it will be worth it. Have a Blessed Day!

Being a good person is like being a pumpkin.God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.He opens you up, touches you deep inside & scoops out all of the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a bright new smiling face & puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another pumpkin.

October 8

Good morning. Hope all is well in BlogLand..... Well it finally feels like we may be getting our fall weather. The afternoons have been warm but a low warm. 85-90 with a breeze. And if you are in the shade it is nice. The mornings have been cooler as I said a few days ago however this morning was 45. It was GREAT!! I poured my coffee and it was too cold to sit outside so I am inside reading my daily bloggers today. I am going to clean house today and get all my fall decor up. It is time! And for some reason I am starting to crave Turkey and Dressing.
I am going to start some Thanksgiving recipes and will post them when I finish them.
Everyone have a good day.

Sept 27, 2008

Each morning I have been sitting with my big red cup of coffee in front of the computer reading blogs. I was having fun with MySpace and Facebook and love finding old friends, blogs are different. I find myself reading the same ones over and over and through each post become closer to the person I am reading about. They not only talk about scrapbook or card making but they share heartfelt things about the family or situations in their life. At first I thought how can people share this with an entire world but the more I type here the easier it becomes to share with you all about my life. Although there are things going on right now that I can't share about but soon I will be able to share it all.
This morning I slept in (7:30) until Brittany texted me saying she arrived at her ACT test. I planned on taking the laptop outside with my cup of joe this morning and sitting under the trees reading my daily blogs. The weather has been in the low 60's when we wake in the morning. A change from our 90 degree mornings a few weeks ago. I am looking forward to the days of open windows and doors. I absolutley love having my windows open airing out the house. Gary doesn't care for it because Audie has to bark at everything that moves.
We had a few things to do today but didn't get one of them done. We went into San Antonio grocery shopping and came back home. I am wishing for that 60 degree weather right now to sit outside under my trees. I guess now I might venture into the studio and see if I can't create something. I do have a lot to work on but kind of feel lazy today. I have a few recipe cards to finish and some images to stamp for a swap I am in.
I will try to scan and post something this weekend. Since I am sure that is what most of you want to see. Better go create. Everyone have a good Saturday evening.

Friday Sept 26, 2008

Well the month is almost over. It has been a long month. So many struggles. I am praying October turns out to be much better.
I almost finished organizing the studio. It is workable anyway. Once I am done I will take pictures. It seems to be a big overwhelming at times. I didn't realize until I started this what I really had. And the collection grows and grows.
I have begun work on a few Christmas presents and they are coming along very nice.
I hit a creative block. I sat in the room for almost an hour and actually through out a few things I tired working on. They just weren't coming together. I plan on going back in there in a while and trying again. I went to splitcoaststampers and read a couple of old magazines and think I have some ideas now.
I hope to post something very soon.
Have a great day.

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Well it has been awhile. Summer was crazy. I just heard on the way home from taking my daughter to school this morning that after Labor Day summer is officially over. Where did it go? Having a Sr this year is going to keep me busy as well. I have been creating a little here and there mainly lots of recipes. I guess it is my new thing. 6x6 recipe cards. It is a lot of fun. I do want to start scrapbooking again as well. I have been trying to come up with something new. I guess I have a creative block. I go into the room and just sit there. I really need to get organized. I did get another bookshelf hoping to get more put up but I am here to say it is over half full with stamp sets. But I will be organized. I was reading this book the other day and it said if you do something everyday for 21 days it becomes a habit. So I need a lot of new habits. Just can't figure out what day to start. he he One is getting this darn blog up and something posted each day. I love reading others and seeing the new creations some come up with.
I will try to post some new stuff over the next few days. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Happy Memorial Day and Thank you to ALL our soldiers.

Well I haven't been doing much lately. A few Birthday cards here and there. But that is it. This weekend on top of getting ready for National Tap Dance Day I had to make graduation invitations for my daughters boyfriend. So I finished them last night and he takes them and hands them out today.
Out of all the stamps I own I didn't have a graduation stamp. Now I have 2.
I used
SU Really Red Paper
The Traffic Jam Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
SU Basic Black Ink

I think they turned out really cute.

April 28

I hope to get a lot done today. Have a page kit swap to finish and get in the mail plus a few cards. Need to work on mothers day cards and gifts.

I am hoping to get some done a posted. Was hoping the weather would warm up so we could actually get in the pool. The water is still to cold. Clean but cold. It is 63 degrees right now and only expected to get as high as 74 today. Anyway made these cute recipe cards this weekend to send for RAKS. I had the recipes left over from a recipe swap I just finished. So I thought I would add them to a piece of card stock for a RAK.

I used the Cherry stamp from Stampin Up retired set Oh So Sweet. With Real Red and Glorious Green ink on Pretty and Pink cardstock.

My Latest

We went to Dallas this past weekend for Brittany's show. We went a day early so we could go to Sam Moons and buy some purses and jewlery. That went very well and I added about 6 new purses to my collection and so did Brittany. At least we can trade sometimes. ha ha Anyway I also went to Michaels. A friend from a swap group sent me a 50% off coupon she got on the internet that was good until Saturday. So I thought print a couple and head over there. I looked around and debated on what to buy of course you can't use it on any of the Cricut items which is okay I just bought 3 new cartirdiges a few weeks ago. Anyway I looked and looked and finally picked out what I wanted.

Introducing my new addition to me addiction:::::::::

Yes that is the Cuttlebug!!!!!!
I also bought a couple of embossing folders. I am excited. And since I had to sub the last two days haven't had a chance to play so today I am home and I am about to get started.
I have a few things to make for some swaps and I need to do my scripture challenge.
Have a Blessed day!

Good Day Today!!

Okay no I didn't keep the blog up and well it has been pretty busy. I am back to just subbing again and have more time to stamp now. I am still taking stuff to storage so a few more weeks on that and I should be done. My room should be nothing but scrapbooking and stampin. I have a few more things to buy for organization but for the most part. I will be making some cards in the next couple of days and will get them posted right away. I also took the leap and started my own swap group. It is just getting started but well worth it. Okay off to feed the dogs and see what I can come up with on the card making. Till later.............
